2016

Well, I heard about this “2026 is the new 2016” trend, and that everyone is posting pics from this particular year… It’s funny, because 2016 happens to be the exact first year I still have folders and pics from on my disk – have lost everything before that. :(

It makes me realize it was 10 years ago (?????). feeling old, but at the same time, SO MUCH has happened since 2016 and I am kind of proud of the person I have become along the way?

So : in 2016, I was 14 years old, I loved going to school, it was my last year of secondary school (we passed the Brevet des Collèges, please find attached my results at the exam I am definitely still boasting about 10 years later UwU) and then my first year of high school in Lycée Livet. Was my very first year in Nantes, the big city!! such amazing memories from this era. ^{Not planning on going back to school in 2026 tho}

Obviously, still lived with my parents, also met my aunt for the first time of my life. Oh and also I had a hamster named Mino (RIP little boy <3)

I remember being obsessed with two things : Warrior Cats and RPG forums (plz do not judge), and Breaking Bad (watched the whole show during summer. was probably too young for it. do not regret it at all). Maybe my sign to start reading again, and to finally watch Better Call Saul in 2026? :’)

Besides being 24/7 on the computer and doing photomanips for RPG forums – a skill which I actually mastered in 2014-2015 (yayyy Photoshop CS6 and Gimp 2.8) – I basically learnt how to draw in 2016, with pens, but also on my beloved Paint Tool SAI. Well, at least, I tried to learn lol… had an absolutely crazy DeviantArt profile back then. It’s unbelievable to see all these but also witness the evolution in 10 years – I remember being SO unsecure about just trying to make art eventhough I was?? just starting it?? what was I even doing

went to England, twice in the same year, but both during school trips :

• the first time, in March, in secondary school. I could choose to go to Barcelona instead, but chose England to go with my best friend. The trip was great but I kind of regretted later to not take the opportunity to go to Spain – but funnily enough, I am going to Barcelona in February 2026!!

• the second time, in high school, when I went to London (+ Portsmouth) for the very first time. Celebrated my 15th birthday on 2016.12.17 in the ferry back to France lol… Never returned to the City after that, and I am just noticing that I am actually going back to London in March 2026?? ^{(maybe 2026 is the new 2016 lmao…)}

spent quality time with my best friend outside school (still planning on doing that 10 years later tbh) and her dogs (she actually got her second dog in June 2016 – looks like grandpa was still a little baby back then?? 🥺). We took walks in the fields to take pics and vids of them all the time!! also spent hoooours on Skype calls…

created my Snapchat and my Instagram account (RIP. 2016-2025). Facebook was definitely also a thing back then. (RIP. 2012-2025). Didn’t post much, was a shy and weird kid I realize, but whatever those pics are I guess I was having fun lol.

Well that didn’t really change either. I still like taking plenty of pictures and now I am yapping on Discord, on Bluesky and on this blog yayyyy ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و ♡

Just noticed my 2026 pfp reminds me a little the one I had in 2016-didn’t mean to at all!! ^{makes me want to do photography and some lightpainting again, I was SO obsessed with this technique back then}
